The NJ newspapers are reporting that Steven Santoro, NJ Transit's longtime leader of capital projects, is the new executive director. Anyone know more about him? Is this good or bad or neutral? Thanks!

I am a bit skeptical because there haven't been any major announcements about it (even the newspaper articles had it in small headlines), like there were when they thought they were getting the man from Virginia who seemed extremely qualified and then turned it down. So, for whatever reason, they seem to be keeping it under the radar for now.

You're right, jis--that position will be a nightmare for the next year and few months--I wonder why he took the job. I wish him well and hope things get better at NJT. Right now, that "Have a safe day" tape that they always run seems to be a mockery.
