Fall Double Days promo?

Has anyone heard anything about one coming up this fall? I know there was speculation last fall that Fall 2015 would be the last one, but they had a full two-month double days back in the spring (3/21-5/21).

The last 3 years Fall Double Days occured on the following dates:

2013: 9/9 - 10/31 (began the Tuesday of the week following Labor Day)

2014: 9/8 - 11/14 (began the Tuesday of the week following Labor Day)

2015: 9/21 - 11/21 (began two weeks after Labor Day)

If Amtrak were doing another promo following the 2013/2014 schedule it would start next Tuesday (9/13). If following last year's schedule it would start 9/19. I'm a bit surprised not to have heard anything. All of the hotels have announced their fall promos (many of which begin mid-September) but I guess Amtrak is late in announcing.

Anyone have any insight?

The Point Awards are now so paltry Double Days have lost much of their value.

Yeah. You used to get 200 points during double days, now you may get 30 points! :angry:

The Double TQPs offer, which I was not offered, evidently lasts through 9/23. It seems likely to me that Double Days, if offered, won't happen until at least 9/24 because I doubt Amtrak will want the two promotions to overlap. Just my speculation.

I just received email. It's 9/19 to 11/19.

OK, I'm wrong again as there is a short overlap-if you got the TQP offer and can travel 9/19-9/23.

When the 100 point minimum was in effect Double Days were a great deal. I was one of the many who would take "point runs" for as little as $11 round trip and with select i would get 450 points. Those points added up quickly which enabled me to take several long distance trips in a roomette. Sadly, those days are over. i'm select until early 2017. Since the new unimproved AGR I've only ridden when I actually had to go someplace..

It's only a board by date right? So any previous trip purchased prior to this offer that is traveled during the double days qualifies? (I'm on CZ in late October)

Yes, that is correct. I will be traveling on CZ early October and traveled during the last "double days' and received credit. I make most of my reservations 4-8 months in advance.

Yes it's when you actually take the trip, not when you purchase the tickets.
