Random AGR Promos (targeted) - for basically free points

Just logged into my AGR account, and saw a new promotion in my targeted list to "Earn 200 Bonus Points for booking a trip on Amtrak.com" I glanced at the promo period which was 2012-2016 validly dates (sadly a one time use promo) clicked register, and saw my master balance rise 200 points but no activity. Looked at the promo again, and it had been applied for to a NYP-MTL trip I took in 2012 right after the promo started!

I was also targeted to a more normal try buissiness class on the Cardinal (sadly the Hoosier state that I just took in buissiness class isn't covered), and another one to try buissiness class on the Crescent

Bingo! It was on mine too. Who knew? So I registered and it immediately awarded the 200 points for a short trip in 2013 although the points haven't showed up in the grand total yet.

The 200 points have now been included in the grand total.

Couldn't hurt to register... I'm pretty sure I booked a trip online *sometime* in the last four years, LOL!

Went and checked it out...registered but, haven't seen the bonus points yet. I'll check my points again later.

There is also a 200 point bonus for Coast Starlight Business Class...so happens my wife and I traveled BC on #14 from LA to SLO last Friday. What the heck...clicked that promo and registered (and my wife as well). Bingo...we each received 200 points dated last Friday 6/24 the day we took the trip.

Speaking of bonus points, we each received a 32 point bonus (unknown reason other than "Bonus, Other Earning") for that trip on 6/24. This was IN ADDITION the stated 25% Business Class bonus which was also 32 points. This bonus appeared before I registered for the bonus the OP informed us of.

Its worth it to check it out...paid off for my wife and I.

As an aside, the points for our trip on Friday, 6/24 posted on Monday 6/27. Still waiting for Sunday's return to post.

I registered and got credited for this back in 2012.

I found the other 200 points...October 2012. Had to search that month. I was first looking at the drop down of "recent" activity. Even though the points were posted today, 2012 was the date on the transaction!

Pretty good today...two promos... 400 points for me and another 400 points for my wife!

I got credit for a trip in Oct 2012 from PHL to WIL! Was that during the PHL Gathering when we went to the shops? :huh:

Thanks for the tip -- must log in as Hubby and get him his points for the January trip (that I booked online for him!).

Thanks for the tip. It was on my account, but not on a friend's account, so apparently it is not universal.

I can't seem to find it...
