In May I will be taking the Cascades from PDX to SEA (King Street Station). From there I want to use the Link Light Rail service. Is there a Link boarding area actually within the King Street Station? Or will I have to walk a few blocks? it's hard to tell from the transit maps.

The Link Light Rail Station is about a 5 minute walk from King Street Station. Outside King Street there is a pedestrian bridge over the tracks. Take that bridge to 4th St. and follow the directional signs.

It's across the tracks via the Weller Street pedestrian bridge to 5th. Check this:

The station is underground.

Here are some photos of the station. It's built into a trench and open to the air.

I created a photo album back in 2012 showing how to get from King Street Station to the light rail. There have been changes since then, but the basics are the same. It's actually easy to do, although I wish there were better signs.

You can also walk towards the front of the station and use the sidewalk crossing at the traffic lights too reach the transit station.
