My wife and I will be taking Train 28 from MAL to CHI later this summer. For the past few weeks I have been checking the arrival times for Train 28 at MAL. So far this month, on five dates no arrival time has been listed; instead, the screen says "Status unavailable." On each of those five dates, an arrival time is listed for HAV, the station before MAL, and for GGW, the station after MAL. Why is the status unavailable for MAL? Could it be because no passengers got off or on the train at MAL?

I wrote Amtrak the other day about ESM as it hasn't reported in months and months.
