Why has there been no movement by liberal elites with huge amounts of money to push for rail? I mean people like Soros. We have the Kochs giving billions to fight everything that is good for the world. Why isn't there something like this on the pro-rail side? Or have they already given up and determined that their billions can't compete with the zillions on the other side? I think it can easily be tied in with the need for work programs, underemployment, global warming, economic boost, etc. Every time I try to watch something online I see an ad for BP, and this is on msnbc. Why don't we have ads for new train service?

Corporate Media and Hate Radio!

As long as the unrational hatred of President Obama remains, nothing Progressive and that is good for the Majority of the people will be given publicity in the Corporate Media or even be voted on in the Congress! ( The Best Congress that Money can buy!)

Limousine Liberals don't like to do the gritty, hard work required to effect change in our Society, they want to go to Galas and Cocktail Parties and mingle with Celebs and other wealthy folks!

Money talks and BS walks! Thank the Supreme Court for making Money politics

the establishment!!! ( remember that Hilary Clinton is running as a Progressive, everyday person just like you and I, and yet she's worth hundreds of millions of dollars but has never had a real job outside of politics!)

IMO, 'the public' is not teachable. Lol.

Advertising cost money, something in short supply at Amtrak, but from reading the forums we know several Amtrak cars recently deadheaded to a location where they were going to shoot an advertisement and Amtrak has some amount of money budgeted for advertising.

Multi-Millionaires like George Soros and Michael Bloomberg are way too busy trying to disarm America. They don't have time for pedestrian duties such as promoting a sustainable mode of public transportation that the general population would actually enjoy taking.

The priority among sensible (left-wing) billionaires is halting global warming, for fairly obvious reasons (global warming wrecks *everything*). Rail service is barely a footnote in that project; solar power, for instance, is a top priority.
