A local pundit says "I continue to think the GOP ticket will end up being John Kasich with Marco Rubio as the Veep, and that pinning down the two key states of Ohio and Florida would be a strong advantage. Voters will want a governor, who also has Congressional experience, not a rookie, and one able to work with Democrats. That would be Kasich. The Democratic counterpart, should Hillary falter, would be Virginia Sen. (and former governor) Tim Kaine."

This does not augur well for passenger rail, and makes it more important than ever to redouble our efforts in Ohio, Florida and Virginia.
