Developed a flat spot on the lead locomotive. Just finished cutting out the problem locomotive and will continue east bound with 1 power unit. About 2 hrs late. And I was worried about the LSL connection because it was having problems!

#8 now east of Whitefish also had a 3 hour delay in SPK today as well. Anyone know what happened there? After doing excellent timekeeping for over two months the Empire Builders are starting to have problems. I hope it's just a momentary bump in the proverbial trackbed.

Flat spot? Does that mean that one of the wheels went out of round?

Meanwhile #8 looks like it will pull into CHI about 2 1/2 hour slate, with tomorrow's #8 running about the same amount of time behind. Please let's hope this isn't a trend.
