The Coast Starlight travels through three states and through those states' capitals. Are there any other routes that do the same thing with the states it travels through?

The Floridian WENT through Nashville and Atlanta -2. Oops that train stopped running in 1981? Guess how many Amtrak trains now run through Nashville. Zero.

The better question might be, how many state capitals doesn't Amtrak pass through?

22? I only see two states lacking Amtrak service: South Dakota; Wyoming.

But then, being somewhat acronym challenged, I don't know what "IINM" means.

Des Moines, Iowa

Frankfort, Kentucky

Nashville, Tennesee

Annapolis, Maryland

To get picky, some stations serving state capitals aren't actually in the capital city. For example:

  • Olympia, WA station is actually in Lacey
  • Albany, NY station is actually in Rensselaer

And Lansing, MI is actually in East Lansing (lol)

Doesn't it miss going through Olympia? I know it's close, but not quite passing through.

But the trains do actually go THROUGH the capital after leaving Rensselaer.

The LSL goes through Boston, Albany, Illinois. Am I missing others?

Illinois?

Via Rail reaches Halifax, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

Via does not reach Regina or Fredericton, and unsurprisingly, also does not reach Charlottetown, St. John's, Whitehorse, Yellowknife, or Iqualit.
