Hey

It's been brought to my attention that there is some kind of a 50% senior discount offered only on tickets bought at the station. Does anybody know anything about that? Someone who is a senior citizem that I know told me about it but I could not find anything at all about it. I'm just curious because it seems very strange that it would be this high, unannounced and offered only on in-station purchases. It's only good for HAR-PHL travel too, apparently.

Something like 15% is the standard senior discount anywhere - online, Amtrak app, phone, onboard, or at a station. I've bought tickets for my in-laws at a station, and all they needed to show was proof of age to get the discount.

For a while I thought 50% was the standard senior discount, although apparently that's only a child fare. I was probably confused with federal recreation area amenities discounts.
