What would it take for more Capitol Corridor trains to San Jose?

It's kind of annoying to me that at least in the commute hours that not every train goes to San Jose. There's about a 90 minute gap between the 523 and the 527, while the 525 stops in Oakland and reverses.

Part of it for me is that occasionally I'll use Fremont as a multi-city stop and 40-50 minutes is a decent stopover, but 90 minutes is way too much time to kill.

Money!! Its the case with ALL train routes.
According to the CCJPA, about $313 million for double track sections and passing sidings, to be exact. Right now, there is only funding for engineering. There is no funding for construction. Absent those capacity improvements, the Oakland - San Jose service is at the limit.
