New to this forum (though I've been on forums in the past), so I'd like to say "Hi!" and introduce myself. My name is (get ready!) George. I'm 64 years old, and about to embark on a cross country tour with my youngest daughter.
I've been a (latent) rail fan since I was a kid. I was born in NYC and have fond memories of the trains there. In 1955, I moved to Chicago. We traveled by train. Interestingly, the train wrecked somewhere in Pennsylvania. I was only 5 at the time, so I don't remember the details, but I do remember my grandmother having a cut above her eye caused by the ticket holder of the seat in front of her (yeah, we rode coach).
