Hello everyone!

I just joined the community here at AU after browsing over some topics I found on the google :)

I'm 24 but I haven't really been a big fan of trains since I was a kid (when I LOVED them. Went to museums whenever I could). I had taken the NER/Acela about 5-10 times going from NYC to PHI or DC but that was it. Then last October I caught the LSL from CLE to NYC and really enjoyed it. Then this past week I took the Palmetto from beggining in NYC to the terminus in SAV. After these past two medium distance trips, I've really had my love for trains rekindled. I spent about 5 hours last night just browsing though AU and Amtrak route websites to try to find out ideas for more trips!

For now, I'm thinking about taking the Palmetto back up to NYC in a few weeks instead of flying. Then I -think- I want to take the Aderondack to experience Ocean View, and either the Ethan Allen or the Empire Service to see the 2x1 leather seats in buisness class and to go up above NYC in the northeast for the first time. Can't think of a better way to do that then a scenic Amtrak route!

THEN I hope to take my first LD trip. But that will take more planning as I want to get a roomette for the first time, which costs a bit more and I'm a recent grad without much leisure money yet. I went to college in New Orleans, so perhaps if there are any reunions heading down there I will take the Crescent. I can't wait for my first LD :) And of course then I want to experience some of the trips out to the west coast but that's waaaaay down the line after some more paychecks hehe.

Anyway that's me introducing myself! It's great meet y'all, from what I've seen so far everybody seems great and willing to explain and answer things to people who don't know a lot like myself.

Thanks, and I hope to get to know you all better!

Welcome. New to site myself but have experienced the joy of train travel and glad others share it.
