I'll be getting on in Everett WA.

It looks like they haven't missed the connection for a while.

Since I don't use a smartphone, I don't know if I can update much along the way, but I'm really looking forward to this part of my trip.

First time on EB, first time in Montana, North Dakota. I don't mind late for getting to see more of this part of the country, and I have my trail mix in case of "emergency" ;) so will probably just relax and enjoy.

Thanks for all posters here who have given me so much good information and peace of mind for this trip.

Good luck and safe travels! We're going west on EB this week, so our paths might 'cross', so to speak!

You likely have a decent chance to make the connection. #8 has "only" been averaging a 3 hour delay in arrival in CHI over the past 2 weeks. With a 5+ hour connection time to #48 things should be OK.

Enjoy the journey!!!

#48 has had late departures from CHI in recent days, which might add to the chances of making the connection. But hopefully the LSL will get back to something close to normal, at least for the eastbound #48.

Chris' new website is awesome. Looks like the last missed connection was on 8/8:

(it would have missed it on 8/13, but it looks like they held the LSL, it didn't depart until 10:48)

I don't think there is a normal anymore. I feel for the crews not having any normal, too.

They do what they can, plus 50%--that's all anyone should ever ask.

Thanks again to everyone. I've had a great week in the northwest with my cousin's family, and now heading home I feel like I'm traveling with a team (you).

Checking out.

There is a posiblity of delays in Eastern Montana between Havre and Glasgow due to the area getting around 8 inches of rain since Friday, with the Milk River at or near flood stage in areas.

What is the address of the site?

Thanks again to all. We got into CHI on 8 Wednesday at about 9:15pm, and 48/448 was right on the next track, so we just walked over and climbed aboard. Left on time.

I'm still getting my land legs this morning, but a little later will talk about the extra meal accommodations for the late 8 on the EB Mess thread.

I hope Amtrak brings this to the dance with the U. S. Surpremes.
