WI highway project cancelled due to "local opposition"

If "local opposition" can stop wasteful highway spending, even in Wisconsin, then "local support" can make rail projects happen!

Unfortunately, usually it is easier to block and kill something than to have something built these days. Applies to highways, rail and even playgrounds.

It just depends on what the project is. If it's related to the military or surveillance or extraction of natural resources or bending over for any of the major sports monopolies then trying to kill it isn't going to be easier than supporting it.

That's true. I guess only certain truly useful things are harder to get support for these days.
