Build a Metro system from the ground up.

The game is in an alpha stage now, but it looks like it'll be wildly entertaining.

The site is currently experiencing issues for me, but the cache'd version looks promising.

I heard about this from both here and a friend and stayed up far too late last night playing. It's simple but really well done.

This game seems to have taken off like wildfire, lots of good writing about it. GGW had a good writeup:

Most importantly, I learned that YOU CAN PAUSE THE GAME BY CLICKING ON THE CLOCK!!!! That should make it easier to pause and reconfigure when things start getting super complex. Trying to do that stuff on the fly is maddening.

Also alpha6 dropped over the weekend.

Didn't quite beat you...I got 550. However, once you get to 500 a lot of the game seems to be luck in terms of where stations start popping in (as well as erratic customer transfers and the like).

And now I've managed to set a new personal best, at 698. There's a point around 20 stations or so where everything just starts to pile up.

Congrats, that's awesome. I still haven't topped my 555. Being able to pause and reroute things is massively helpful. When particularly "bad" stations pop up, I've leveled everything and rebuilt from scratch a few times. Try doing that in the real world! :D

They are starting to get some good content on their devlog. Looks like lots of improvements coming up (multiple frequencies, "zen" mode with no constraints, etc).

Saw on Facebook that alpha 7 is out. Unlimited tunnels (yay!) but the slow your train down (boo!).

Going to be a bit longer wait for 8, they're planning for a bunch or work to go into that one.

I got to 686 on the new release. I actually don't like the new release...the "river slowdown" is more of an impediment than the tracks-under-the-river were, though it is nice to get to the station/train upgrades faster.

And I got to 802 on the latest release. I got lucky with configurations (and in a few cases, timing). Still, once you get over about 20 stations the current limit of 5 cars gets to be increasingly unmanageable.

Best I've done is 708. I suspect score inflation will happen massively when two trains on a line are allowed-what tends to happen now is one single line starts to get wildly piled up starting around 500 and the speed increase for upgrading doesn't keep up.
