As was pointed out over there:

Sid will use his past experience to ensure that the CUS operations and Chicago’s OBS corridor and Crewbase operations meet the standards and polices set by Amtrak.


Sounds an awful lot like "Will make sure that Chicago quits crewing around and actually gets work done properly".

I haven't met him but those I know, who have, say hes pretty Sharp! As jis says, he'll need it in CHI which is still probably in need of much  "Hands on " Motivation/Training/Transfers and Terminations by Management!

Bets on whether they'll make it a year? Amtrak's had some amazingly fast personnel turnover of late it seems.
