I have five RDC-1s that I have decaled to look like the Trinity Railway Express. Did this over 10 years ago so the decals are starting to peel.. Jusy like in real life. :D

After the decals set, you should clear coat the entire model to help seal them on.

Are these Athearn rubber band powered?

I clearcoated, I put the Walthers decal protector on them, clearcoated again, did everything I could think of. Don't know why they're peeling.

I have 5 of these - 2 dummies, 2 that have motors, but use rubber bands to drive the trucks (as opposed to being "powered" by rubberbands. LOL, I know what you meant!), and 1 with an Ernst gear driver conversion.

My rubber bands are dead (new ones on order), and the Ernst conversion was a disaster. The gear box sits on the metal body and grinds like no tomorrow. But worse, the truck doesn't sit on the track evenly - the forward pair of wheels sits off the rail, so in a curve, it derails.

As I was comparing with the prototype, I realized how bland mine is. ;)

I would like to add lights - no DCC - but I want them to be directional - Red in the back, and white lights in the front.

I want to have two bulbs on the top in the middle and one larger one each on the left and right under the cab windows.

I would need smaller red lights for the tail lamps.

Can someone help me source the right bulbs for a project like this? I have one practice dummy shell to experiment with. :)

Another thing I would like to add is the railing in front of the vestibule door. I would think that with as many RDCs around in the modelling world, someone would have produced one. Anyway, Google has failed me.

Thanks in advance!
