We just returned from a Boston to California Amtrak trip.

Our first stop was Riverside, CA which is home to the amazing Mission Inn.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott the first night and took a taxi to the Mission Inn the next day. What a beautiful inn- it is more than an inn-it
is a huge historic inn with courtyards, several restaurants, a spa, and a large collection of paintings and pottery. It is also right next to a town
promenade with all kinds of shops and eateries.

Google the Mission Inn to see how amazing it is. A stay there requires a minimum of 2 nights, so we happily stayed at the Courtyard which is well run.

Riverside, CA- a good one night stopover on the way to LA and beyond.

Train Trips: Acela Express, California Zephyr (3x), Capitol Limited (2x), Coast Starlight (4x), Desert Wind, Lake Shore Limited (6x), Northeast Regional (many times), Pacific Surfliner (2x), Silver Meteor (7x), Southwest Chief (4x), Cardinal.
