The TE between Dallas and Ft. Worth passes in front of my job daily. Today, at the end of the train, there was what was probably a private car.....it looked like some old observation car, with the windows that curled around the side to the top. It was the same silver color as the rest of the train, but had no blue. On the side it said "Iowa Pacific"

Anyone know anything about this car, it was surely a good looking rail car!

It sounds like Iowa Pacific is a major operator of private rail charters, including the freshly started Pullman Service on the City of New Orleans. Now the way you described the car you saw it sounds like it could be a former Seabord Sun Lounge.

Except Seaboard sun lounge did not have a boatail observation end

From his description I couldn't tell if he was describing a boattail as it sounds like he describes the windows coming up and over much like PPC or Sightseer. I know at least 1 Sun Lounge is in private hands, although the last pics I saw of it has it in original livery.

I looked at pix and vids of the Seaboard Sun Lounge, and that was not it. Just had regular windows, but also the "T-Top" style glass curving around the top.

Not sure what it was, but it was a good looking rail car.
