I'll be taking the Vermonter down and back - one of the rare gatherings where there's a direct train right to where I need to be!
Which trains are you taking to the Philly gathering

I am really really hoping that we will somehow get to see either the CNOC or the Philly/Wilmington CETC center or both. That will be something! BTW, has the CETC moved from Philly to Wilmington yet?
I'm voting for ANY "behind the scenes tours" (Bowels of 30th St. Station, anything) over any rail-riding or transit hopping tours......just saying.....
But I'd hate to miss any activity if we do anything on Sunday.
Haven't started work on the itinerary yet, but there will definitely be activities on Sunday morning for sure. And I'll probably plan an afternoon ride for those not getting out of dodge on Sunday, even though the main event will end late/morning or early/afternoon.
btw, certainly appreciate all the WORK done by committee members and OTHERS for this annual soiree.
Jis I believe the CETC centers were moved quite a while back. As cabs used to never be allowed near the 30th Street Side of the building. It was blocked by Jersey Barriers. Quite some time ago those Jersey Barriers were removed. I was told it was because the CETC center was on that side of the Building. Not sure how true it is. But if it then they have been gone from PHL for quite a while.
I did once see the old CETC center. What a nerve center. They seriously don't get enough credit. But this was about 10 years ago. It was truly a great work of art I'd say.
These posts are my views and opinions.

Thanks. I have learned from several other sources that the CETC center has indeed completed its move sometime back.
Wilmington CETC was on the news among rail aficionados yesterday when for a period in the morning ARINC's communication network to Wilmington CETC failed bringing NEC South to a screeching halt, in a manner of speaking. For a period they apparently reverted back to old fashioned fleeted signals to run as much as they could, but it was apparently a mess. They were contemplating a cold start of the CETC which takes hours, but apparently did not have to go that far, and the thing somehow recovered by late mornning. Very sketchy info on trainorders.
