When returning from PDX a few years ago in late March, while the CZ was crossing the Sierra Nevadas, #6 went thru a full blown blizzard!Forget 29 degrees, it was snowing heavily as our Zephyr went through the Sierra Nevadas. There was at least 6 inches on the ground and it was still coming down as we crossed.

Below is a photo taken on the Talgo going from Seattle to Portland.
Some of us enjoyed the scenery and some chatted, but as you can
see from the photo, our Stephen was engaged in another activity!!!

Wondering what to call me? Just keep it simple, call me Misty. Even if you know my real name through other avenues, I don't prefer it, and I'm sort of surprised I answer to it outside of work anymore.
Know I'll be in your area? Look for the orange backpack and feel free to call me out if you have a few minutes to chat. ![]()

Booking a Hostelling International stop in the United States as part of a trip? I've noticed it's cheaper to book through http://www.hiusa.org/ instead of by a similar URL that they also hold - for some reason, the one I don't list charges a booking fee, among other things.

The one thing everyone needs to remember is that on forums such as this, all it takes is a computer, connection and the ability to hit a few keys and you can become an instant expert! Isn't technology great?
