Hope that a final decision will soon be made as to the host city for the Gathering V in the West. :o
Just checking a few early dates in Oct and there are a few in which sleepers are sold out on the CL :(
Empire Builder has some decent buckets left as of Friday PM.
If the host city is other than PDX or SEA, that is another question? :D

I'd say don't worry right now!

If it is the same weekend as always, that would be Oct 7-9. As of this writing, it is November 6, 2010. Those dates for 2011 are not even on sale yet! (It is over 11 months!Posted Image) So how could they be sold out?Posted Image

A training I will go ... !

Okay looking at things a little closer I guess it depends on the committee and there schedules since they volunteer their time to work things out for us.

Gathering IV was announced on of February 2nd, 2010

Gathering III was announced on November 26th, 2009

Gathering II was announced on January 18th, 2008

So I guess the real answer is it depends

Not to get out the dueling pistols but that's my way of saying ~nought~ or nothing in French. It doesn't display anything was my point. The explanation is self-explanatory. Meet me at the Beaumont depot for further discussion (if you can find it.)

Ah, I misunderstood you. Perhaps I ought not take things so literarily sometimes.

Instead of pistols @ Beaumont, how about beers at PDX instead?

The dates I was checking was Oct 3 or 4 and it did allow booking on those days. Since we would need to leave a few days ahead of time to get to SEA or PDX, just thought I would put in those days. There were no roommettes on the CL available on one day, but still some available on the Lakeshore, while the low bucket of around $240 was available on the EB for those dates.
Just wondering for the sake of saving some money

Hey, don't laugh. Some of us don't have stations at all.
Amtrak trains taken: Missouri River Runner (11/1), Lincoln Service (3/2), Texas Eagle (1)
Other trains taken: Berlin-Warsaw Express (Deutsch Bahn), Branson Scenic Railway (tourist route)
Commuter rail taken: Berlin U-Bahn, Boston 'T', Caracas Metro, Chicago CTA, Minneapolis LRT, Paris Metro, Paris RER, St. Louis Metrolink, Washington Metro

Blue indicates full length of the route.
